4 yearly review of modern awards –Casual employment and Part-time employment –minimum engagement for casual employees –Gas Industry Award 2020.
A. Further to the decision issued by the Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission on 9 August 2018 [[2018] FWCFB 4695] 1 the above award is varied as follows:
1. By renumbering clauses 11.3 and 11.4 as clauses 11.4 and 11.5 respectively.
2. By inserting a new clause 11.3 as follows:
11.3 A casual employee must be engaged and paid for at least 2 consecutive hours of work on each occasion they are required to attend work.
2. By updating the table of contents and cross-references accordingly.
B. This determination comes into operation on 3 March 2021. In accordance with s.165(3) of the Fair Work Act 2009 this determination does not take effect in relation to a particular employee until the start of the employee’s first full pay period that starts on or after 3 March 2021.
